prettified mac monitoring
There’s not really a case modding scene for Macs the way there is for PCs. Though there’s the Lego Mac (made from a damaged PowerBook 5300) and the famous Macquarium (which throws away the computer and repurposes the lovely piece of industrial design it lived in).
That said, if you’re going to do this sort of thing, make it gorgeous. Blakespot monitors his Mac Pro using Brezink’s Hardware Monitor app to an IO-Warrior controller and 4×24 LCD. Here’s the walkthrough.
The box for the controller and the LCDs is made of PixelBlocks, which appear custom-designed to reproduce 8-bit game sprites in plastic. Or large full-colour Apple logos.
